Here is an early electric guitar offered for a moment by National/Dobro in 1935. 1935 is the year National and Dobro merged their companies and began to offer these modern(at the time) electric guitars. The guitar was made Regal and sent to Dobro where a hole was cut in the top for the pickup and a set of dowels were installed to support the top. The pickup is a single coil in a chrome plated brass housing to eliminate hum. This information and volumes more can be found in "The Pinecaster" by Nacho Banos and Lynn Wheelright. This guitar is pictured on page 67 of the book and is serial number N639. The scale length is 25.2 inches.
